Features: This book first proposes the motivation for enterprises to engage in knowledge alliances—to obtain benefits, which will enhance their core competitive capabilities. It then introduces the process model, goal differences, and mutual compensation between Chinese enterprises and foreign multinational corporations in knowledge alliances. It analyzes current issues and attempts to answer why enterprises engage in knowledge alliances and how they do so. Additionally, it conducts field research on the knowledge alliance between Dongfang Communication and Motorola. This book attempts to answer two fundamental questions: 1) Why do enterprises engage in knowledge alliances? 2) How do enterprises engage in knowledge alliances? Specific research is conducted based on these two fundamental questions. The study seeks to provide a tentative answer to these two questions from both theoretical and empirical perspectives. To conduct a deeper and more comprehensive research on the two fundamental issues of enterprise knowledge alliances, this paper aims to analyze and address the following five key problems: 1) Analyzing enterprise knowledge alliances using economic principles; 2) Knowledge transfer in enterprise knowledge alliances; 3) The motivational models of enterprise knowledge alliances; 4) Performance evaluation and economic control models of enterprise knowledge alliances; 5) Providing strategies for enterprise knowledge alliances, as well as recommendations and regulatory measures for policy-making departments.
