Features: Nicolas Gresch, born in Willisau, Switzerland in 1947. He first studied typography in Lucerne, then graphic design at the Lucerne School of Art. After completing his studies, he worked as an art director in Paris. Since 1973, he has owned his own graphic design studio. He has been hosting jazz concerts in his hometown of Willisau (since 1966) and an annual jazz music festival (since 1975). He has won numerous awards at the Essen Poster Triennial (1987 and 1994), including the "Toulouse-Lautrec Gold Medal." He received the gold medal at the Chaumont Poster Festival (1992), the gold medal at the Ljubljana Poster Biennial (1993), the first prize at the Helsinki Poster Biennial (1997), the first prize at the Turnov Poster Biennial (1997), and the first prize at the Hong Kong Poster Triennial (2001). He won the silver medal at the Brno Biennial (1992), the special award at the Warsaw Poster Biennial (1992), the bronze medal at the Poster Triennial, and many other awards. Nicolas Gresch has received the Swiss Federal Design Award, and his works have been awarded the "Swiss Poster of the Year" prize 22 times. He has won two gold medals, 17 silver medals, and 26 bronze medals from the Swiss Art Directors Club in total. He received the Swiss Art Directors Club Special Award in 2000 and has won the New York Art Directors Club awards multiple times, such as the silver medal and the special Merit Award in 2001. His works are widely collected by museums such as the Museum of Contemporary Art in New York, the Hamburg Museum of Industrial Art, the Wilanów Poster Museum in Warsaw, the Ogaki Poster Museum, the Essen Poster Museum, the Bibliothèque Nationale de France in Paris, the Amsterdam Museum, and other museums. Since 1998, he has been a professor at the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Germany. He has been a member of AGI (Association of Graphic Designers International) since 1990.
