Features: The final research of the Beijing "Fifteenth Five-Year Plan" Social Science Planning Key Project undertaken by Jiang Heping from the Institute of Agricultural Economics, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, titled "Ideas and Practices of Transforming Traditional Agriculture with High Technology," was published by the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences in August 2003. Experts consider this academic work to be one of the earliest academic studies in China on the use of high technology to transform traditional agriculture in Beijing, as well as a summary of the authors' recent research on the issue. This academic work provides theoretical and practical guidance for Beijing's use of high technology to transform traditional agriculture and has the following prominent features:
First, innovation. Based on extensive field investigations and years of theoretical research, the authors have proposed many new theoretical perspectives, providing a scientific basis and theoretical support for Beijing's use of high technology to develop modern agriculture. For example: proposing three levels of high technology penetration into traditional agriculture in Beijing; revealing the essence and core of transforming traditional agriculture with high technology, and combining it with technological innovation, structural optimization, diversified financing, institutional change, and sustainable development to form mechanisms and models for the penetration of high technology into all aspects of agricultural production, all of which have certain novelty.
Second, theoretical guidance. This academic work proposes a guiding philosophy for supporting and promoting the development of modern agriculture in Beijing with high technology, as well as construction goals for Beijing's agriculture to achieve "Six Highs" and "Nine Transformations" through high technology. It extracts a technical development model for transforming traditional agriculture with high technology—ecological farming, biological engineering, agricultural engineering, information technology, trade, industry, and rural integration—and proposes a comprehensive evaluation index system for transforming traditional agriculture in Beijing with high technology, determining corresponding evaluation indicators and reference standards, demonstrating strong theoretical guidance.
Third, systematicity. This academic work studies the entire process of transforming traditional agriculture in Beijing with high technology, focusing on the practical development of modern agriculture in Beijing. It provides a comprehensive analysis of the fundamental principles, guiding philosophy, development direction, overall layout, implementation strategies, and basic ideas of transforming traditional agriculture with high technology, as well as exploring the interaction patterns among them, thereby constructing a rigorous theoretical framework and logical system for transforming traditional agriculture in Beijing with high technology.
Fourth, strong demonstration and guidance. This academic work conducts an empirical analysis of the model of transforming traditional agriculture in Beijing with high technology. The empirical analysis is not limited to general descriptions but involves and refinement, proposing nine operational models for Beijing's use of high technology to transform traditional agriculture, demonstrating strong demonstration and guidance.
This book is an academic work on the ideas and practices of transforming traditional agriculture in Beijing with high technology. It consists of eight chapters, comprehensively and systematically elaborating on the connotation, characteristics, fundamental principles, guiding philosophy, strategic layout, operational models, and other aspects of transforming traditional agriculture in Beijing with high technology, proposing a comprehensive evaluation index system and countermeasures for transforming traditional agriculture in Beijing with high technology. The content is novel, the focus is clear, the structure is well-organized, and it is suitable for reference by science and technology management departments at all levels of government, agricultural management departments, faculty and students of agricultural colleges, researchers of agricultural research institutions, and agricultural extension personnel.
