It has also established close ties with the Value Engineering or Value Management (Associations) in countries and regions such as the United Kingdom, France, the United States, and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Mr. Christophe Gobin, President of the French Value Management Association, and Professor Jean-Michel, Vice President, have corresponded multiple times proposing exchanges between value engineering professionals in China and France. To promote academic research and the popularization of value engineering, after exchanging views with the Value Management (Associations) in France, the United States, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and Taiwan Province, and accepting their valuable suggestions, the First International Conference on Value Engineering and Management was held in Beijing to further advance the development of value engineering in China. This book is a compilation of papers from that academic conference, primarily including three parts: 1) Research on the Theory and Methods of Value Engineering; 2) Applications of the Theory and Methods of Value Engineering; and 3) Other Papers Related to Value Management and Its Applications.
