What can I do if my baby always has diarrhea?

Patient's question:

My baby is 4 months old and has been having diarrhea for 5 days now. Initially, he had a fever of 38.5 degrees, but after receiving fever-reducing medication, the fever subsided. However, he is still experiencing diarrhea, mostly watery.
Previous treatment and effectiveness:
The doctor prescribed medication, but it hasn’t been effective.
Desired help:
How can I stop the diarrhea? The baby has become thinner.

Doctor's answer:

The method is to take one nutmeg, mix the nutmeg powder into a paste, wait until it slightly hardens, tightly wrap the nutmeg with the paste, and then place it in the fire. Stir it several times, slowly roast it until dry, with the outer layer nearing a slightly charred state being ideal. Fill the outer layer, scrape off the nutmeg skin, and grind it into a fine powder.
For children aged 3 and above, divide one nutmeg into 3 doses; for those aged 2, divide it into 4 doses; and for those under 1 year old, divide it into 6 doses. All dosages are taken twice daily, morning and evening, orally.
Nutmeg is pungent and warm in nature, with the effects of astringent intestines, stopping diarrhea, warming the middle, and promoting qi flow. It is effective for various types of nausea and vomiting, particularly for chronic diarrhea due to cold deficiency or "morning dew" diarrhea.
