At 7.5 months, what brand of fish oil should I give my baby?

Patient's question:

My baby is 7 and a half months old. Which brand of fish oil and calcium lactate should I give her? I previously gave her regular ones, which didn't seem very effective. Her skull hasn't fully closed yet, and her hair is thin. The doctor recommended eating something better, but I'm not sure how to choose. Please give me some suggestions on which is better.

Doctor's answer:

Generally, a baby's forehead should close at around 18 months. At the current age of seven months, it's normal for the forehead not to have closed yet, and it doesn't necessarily mean the baby is calcium-deficient. You can first conduct a thorough blood calcium check for diagnosis. As long as the medication is purchased from a regular People's Hospital or a children's hospital, it is acceptable. Ordinary calcium effervescent tablets are very effective. The key is to include more animal liver, lean meat, and other supplementary foods, which are beneficial for calcium supplementation.
