Features: The guardian of the Heavenly Palace, Yuan Gong, is determined to use the magic in the Heavenly Book to benefit the human world. He selects the little boy Dan Sheng and passes the Heavenly Book to him. Kind-hearted Dan Sheng uses the magic to help the people, but he is targeted by three fox spirits. The fox spirits trick him into stealing the Heavenly Book and use it to curry favor with high officials and the emperor. Dan Sheng chases after them, engaging in magical battles with the fox spirits.
In the "Secretariat Hall" of the Heavenly Palace, the clerk Yuan Gong seized the opportunity when the Jade Emperor was attending a gathering at the Fairy Pool and broke open the stone niche, secretly taking the Heavenly Book down to the mortal world. He carved the text of the book onto the stone walls of Baiyun Cave on Yunmeng Mountain. For revealing the secrets of heaven, Yuan Gong violated the heavenly laws and was punished by the Jade Emperor to guard the Heavenly Book on the stone walls for life.
One day, Yuan Gong patrolled the mountain on a cloud and encountered Dan Sheng. To pass the Heavenly Book to the human world, he instructed Dan Sheng to wait for the incense burner at the entrance of Baiyun Cave to rise with colorful smoke, bring white paper, and copy the Heavenly Book from the stone walls inside the cave. Dan Sheng followed Yuan Gong's instructions and copied the book. Yuan Gong then guided Dan Sheng to study and practice diligently, using the Heavenly Book to benefit the people. Dan Sheng studied the book, controlled locust plagues, relieved disasters, and eliminated harm for the people. The fox spirits, resenting Dan Sheng for disrupting their misdeeds, conspired to steal the Heavenly Book and colluded with the government to continue tormenting the people. Dan Sheng pursued the book, engaging in multiple magical battles with the fox spirits. When Dan Sheng and the fox spirits fought over the Heavenly Book, Yuan Gong arrived, retrieved the book, and took out a white stone mirror from his sleeve, crushing the fox spirits to death under the Yunmeng Mountain.
Knowing he could not escape the heavenly court's justice, Yuan Gong handed the Heavenly Book to Dan Sheng, urging him to memorize the text. Then, Yuan Gong burned the book with divine fire. Instantly, thunder and lightning erupted, and the Jade Emperor's decree arrived, capturing Yuan Gong and returning him to the heavenly court to stand trial.
