Is there a relationship between constipation in babies and formula milk?

Patient's question:

I don't know what's going on, but my child has been misbehaving and crying non-stop lately. Even the hospital check-ups haven't helped. Is there a connection between constipation in babies and formula?

Doctor's answer:

A small infant can supplement with 20-30 milliliters of warm water between feedings. Older children need more fluid intake. If they don't like drinking it, you can add some fresh juice, vegetable juice, or glucose to the water. It is recommended that mothers massage the baby's abdomen in a clockwise direction every day, then give the baby more water and juice. Babies who are eating complementary foods should drink more water and juice, as otherwise they are prone to constipation.
