Features: Under the planning and leadership of the Teaching Materials Office of the Ministry of Health and the National Evaluation Committee for Medical Laboratory Teaching Materials of Higher Medical Colleges, we organized a group of experts engaged in medical laboratory teaching and clinical work to compile the "Upgrading from Junior College to Bachelor's Degree" level textbook "Fundamentals of Clinical Medical Laboratory Testing" for the use of students in the "Upgrading from Junior College to Bachelor's Degree" program in medical laboratory testing. "Upgrading from Junior College to Bachelor's Degree" education differs from full-time undergraduate education starting from scratch, and it is inappropriate to adopt the systematic presentation method of junior college textbooks for zero-starting-point undergraduate education. In the writing process, we focused on the following aspects:
1. Change the systematic presentation method of junior college textbooks to a thematic approach, striving to maintain the systematicity and completeness of the textbook.
2. Emphasize the standardization, normalization, quality control, new developments in testing, and introduce the application of evidence-based medicine in testing into the textbook.
3. Emphasize clinical practical applications. For routine testing methods that have been widely adopted in clinical practice after specialized study, the textbook focuses on method evaluation, clinical applications, and quality control. For new methods and technologies that have not yet been widely adopted in clinical practice but are worthy of promotion, the textbook focuses on detection principles, method evaluation, clinical applications, and quality control. Testing items that are rarely used or no longer used in clinical practice have been appropriately removed.
4. The depth of theoretical knowledge is based on general undergraduate textbooks, with some research progress added appropriately.
