Features: The revision of this third edition was carried out not only because of the need to further align the original textbook with the current regulations following the revision of the "Accounting Law" by the state, the promulgation of the "Regulations on Enterprise Financial Accounting Reports" by the State Council, the revision and promulgation of the "Specific Accounting Standards for Enterprises" by the Ministry of Finance, and the issuance of new "Accounting Systems for Enterprises," but also because it has absorbed as much as possible the new theoretical research achievements in recent years from the domestic and international fields of accounting and finance. Therefore, the revision of this series of textbooks can be said to be a systematic display of the teaching and research achievements of teachers from the Accounting Department of the Renmin University of China over the past decade. We hope that the readers will once again recognize it. Since the second edition of "Financial Accounting" was published in 1998, China's accounting reform has taken another step forward. In the third edition, we made major revisions to "Financial Accounting": 1. Added two chapters: "Post-Balance Sheet Events" and "Accounting Changes and Error Corrections," increasing the total number of chapters from 13 in the second edition to 15. 2. Made significant modifications to chapters such as "Inventory," "Foreign Investments," "Fixed Assets," "Intangible Assets," "Long-Term Liabilities," "Owner's Equity," and "Financial Accounting Reports" in accordance with the new accounting standards and accounting systems. As a textbook, it strives to introduce the basic principles of financial accounting as comprehensively and systematically as possible, and for various economic transactions, it points out different accounting procedures and methods that can be chosen to cultivate students' abilities to analyze, solve problems, and adapt to changes in the environment.
