Features: Since the establishment of China's market economy system has laid the foundation for the formulation of the Civil Code, China's judicial practice has accumulated rich practical experience in the formulation of the Civil Code, and a large number of civil law scholars have also made extensive theoretical preparations. Therefore, it is entirely feasible to promulgate a comprehensive and substantive Civil Code that aligns with China's national conditions, and it will provide strong guarantees for China's economic takeoff, cultural prosperity, and long-term stability in the 21st century. We have ample reasons to believe that the publication of a Chinese-characteristic, advanced, and comprehensive Civil Code will become a reality in the near future. If the promulgation of the French Civil Code in the early 19th century and the German Civil Code in the early 20th century became important achievements in the history of global civil law development, then the promulgation of the Chinese Civil Code in the early 21st century will undoubtedly leave a glorious chapter in the history of civil law development.
"Private Law" advocates the integration of private law as a whole discipline for comprehensive research, particularly emphasizing the fundamental theories of private law. It is an academic journal with high creativity and theoretical standards. In fact, the current draft Civil Code submitted to the National People's Congress for deliberation shows some tendencies of legislative arbitrariness, which is a result of the lack of general theoretical research on private law, especially the lack of research on private law as a whole.
