Features: The Huayan Sutra, also known as the Dapengguang Fofa Huayan Sutra, has long been revered by Mahayana Buddhism as the "Sutra of Kings." It directly manifests the vast, complete, boundless, and unconstrained virtues of the Buddha's cause and effect. The Huayan Sutra is like the ocean of sutras, encompassing all, and the realm it reveals is majestic and inconceivable. In the Huayan Sutra, the One True Dharma Realm, which is realized by all Buddhas of the three times, cultivated by all Bodhisattvas of the ten directions, revered by all sages of the great thousand worlds, and possessed by all beings of the Dharma Realm, is fully revealed. This translation is based on the Eighty-Five Huayan Sutra by Shubhakarasimha. It selects three parts: the Vast World of Dharma Treasure Chapter, the Entering the Dharma Realm Chapter, and the Ten Grounds Chapter. The content is concise but the language is elegant and readable. The Vast World of Dharma Treasure Chapter reveals the structure of the infinite and boundless Huayan worlds; the Entering the Dharma Realm Chapter elaborates on the entire process of the initial Bodhisattva, Sudhana, seeking knowledge and enlightenment; the Ten Grounds Chapter describes the ten stages of Bodhisattva cultivation. This translation adheres to the principle of faithfulness to the original text, avoiding subjective speculation or inference. The colloquial translation is easy to understand, clearly explaining the principles, and primarily uses literal translation for passages that are difficult to express or have multiple meanings.
