Features: Zhang Rongqing, born in 1938, is from Anyang, Hebei. He graduated from the Architecture Department of Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology. He worked as an architect and an editor for the China Encyclopedia for many years. In 1984, he joined the China calligraphers Association. He has served as the Director of the Research Department, Secretary-General of the Academic Committee, and member of the Education Committee of the China Calligraphers Association. Currently, he is a council member of the China Overseas Friendship Association, a council member of the China Calligraphers Association, and a member of its Academic Committee. His professional title is Editor-in-Chief. He has served as a judge for the National 5th Youth Calligraphy Exhibition and the National to 3rd Couplets Exhibition. His works have been exhibited in major domestic and international calligraphy exhibitions and included in numerous large-scale collections. He has won first prizes in the National 4th and 5th Calligraphy Exhibitions and the National 4th Youth Calligraphy Exhibition. He has organized multiple national and international major academic conferences and has long been dedicated to the study of ancient Chinese calligraphy history and calligraphy theory. He has published works such as Chinese Characters and Calligraphy and A Study of Wang Yin's Texts and Records. He has been invited to chair the graduation thesis defense for master's students in calligraphy at Beijing Normal University. He has held personal calligraphy exhibitions in the National Art Museum of China as well as in Changzhou, Changshu, Zunyi, and Xiamen. Since the 1980s, he has been invited to teach in Beijing and other places, and has taught calligraphy to friends from Japan, South Korea, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, and other countries.
