Publisher:
Publish Date: 2000-08-01
Features: The "Complete Collection of Chinese Painting" is compiled based on selected fine paintings from the national touring appraisal of ancient Chinese painting and calligraphy, with a limited inclusion of works from museums outside mainland China. This book records only ancient Chinese paintings created on silk (including silk, brocade, and gauze) and paper. Murals, stone-carved prints, and other works from different historical periods will be separately compiled into complete collections. The book is organized by historical eras in China, with artists arranged in chronological order within each dynasty. Works unearthed or discovered in the Dunhuang Buddhist cave libraries are placed before the works of the same era. To reflect the characteristics of each historical period, annotations are provided in the captions for individual works.
