Features: The Mechanical Design Handbook was organized by the Beijing Non-ferrous Metal Design and Research Institute and other units in 1967 and published by the Chemical Industry Press in 1969. It is the first large-scale mechanical design reference book in New China to adopt Chinese national standards, introduce domestic materials and products, reflect China's own scientific and technological achievements, and provide various conventional general design data and technical information. Upon its release, it was recognized and praised by all sectors of society, especially the mechanical design community, and quickly entered design units, research institutions, universities and colleges, and factories and enterprises. Mechanical design professionals almost had a copy, becoming a reference book for design workers, scientific research and teaching personnel, and industrial technology personnel.
The fourth edition, while inheriting the traditional strengths and characteristics, has undergone significant additions, deletions, and modifications in content based on current technological progress and the needs of mechanical design, especially new product development. It fully adopts the new design standards, incorporates new technologies, new materials, and new products, with approximately 70% of the content being revised. This national key science and technology book has received awards such as the National Science Congress Science and Technology Achievement Award, the Second Prize of the National Outstanding Science and Technology Books, the Second Prize of the National Chemical Industry Science and Technology Progress, and the Outstanding Science and Technology Book Award of the Chemical Industry Ministry. It has been named one of the National Outstanding Bestsellers three times.
This handbook recommends many practical new technologies, new products, new materials, and new processes, expanding the variety and specifications of corresponding products while fully adopting the new standards.
