Features: This book can be used as a professional basic course textbook for the major of "Chemical Engineering and Technology," or as an elective course textbook for other chemical engineering-related majors. It can also serve as a reference for scientific researchers, designers, and production personnel engaged in the chemical engineering field. This book is a revised version of the original trial teaching material "Fundamentals of Chemical Engineering Transfer Process" (compiled by Wang Shaoting and Chen Tao, Chemical Industry Press, 1987). The textbook systematically discusses the basic principles, mathematical models, and solution methods of momentum, heat, and mass transfer ("three transfers") in chemical engineering, theoretical calculations of transfer rates, analogy among the three transfers, and engineering applications of transfer theory. The book consists of 12 chapters. Chapter 1 is an introduction to transfer processes, elaborating on fluid flow, the similarity of the three transfers, and balance methods; Chapters 2 to 5 cover momentum transfer, including the continuity equation and motion equation, applications of the motion equation, boundary layer flow, and turbulence; Chapters 6 to 8 deal with heat transfer, including an introduction to heat transfer and the energy equation, heat conduction, and convective heat transfer; Chapters 9 to 12 focus on mass transfer, including an introduction to mass transfer and the mass transfer differential equation, molecular transfer, convective mass transfer, and processes where momentum, heat, and mass transfer occur simultaneously. Each chapter includes examples and exercises to help readers understand and apply the content of this book.
