Features: Environmental protection is one of the basic national policies of China. In recent years, environmental science and engineering have made significant progress in China. More than 200 universities in the country have established environmental science and engineering programs, with a rapid increase in the number of undergraduate and graduate students. Exchange with international environmental protection technologies has also grown. In 2001, we organized industry experts to compile the English-Chinese Dictionary of Environmental Science and Engineering, which was well-supported and recognized by environmental professionals. Building on this success, we have now compiled this Chinese-English Dictionary of Environmental Science and Engineering to further promote in-depth exchanges of environmental science and engineering technologies between China and the world. This book comprehensively includes fundamental, common, and new terms in environmental science and engineering. The scope of coverage spans all branches of environmental science and engineering, while ensuring the completeness and balance of knowledge across various disciplines and specialties. In terms of word selection and definitions, we strive for scientific, systematic, and standardized approaches, with a focus on including terms related to new environmental protection technologies, new equipment, and clean production, among other emerging areas.
