Features: In the 19th century, Jude Fawley married Arabella, dreaming of becoming a theologian. After the marriage, Jude discovered Arabella was a rustic country girl with nothing in common with him. Thus, Jude came to Christminster with his initial dream. Here, he fell in love with Sue Bridehead, who was already married to Philotson. Disheartened, Jude continued his studies to become a priest. Eventually, emotions won out. Jude abandoned his theological studies and lived with Sue, enjoying a happy and free life. However, soon after, poverty struck this unconventional family. One day, Jude's son, Little Tim, hanged himself after killing two infants, and Sue gave birth to a stillborn child. At this moment, Sue strongly desired repentance and, out of hardship, returned to Philotson. Confused and lost, Jude also remarried Arabella. His illness worsened, and after his last meeting with Sue, he died in despair.
