Features: With the implementation of mandatory product certification and voluntary certification systems in China, more and more lighting industry professionals have been exposed to mandatory lighting national standards and gradually recognized the importance of the basic lighting standard GB7000.1. To achieve international quality standards for lighting products in China, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine issued the revised version of the basic safety standard for lighting products, GB7000.1-2002, replacing the previous GB7000.1-1996. GB7000.1-2002, titled "General Safety Requirements and Tests for Lamps and Lighting Equipment," will come into mandatory effect on August 1, 2003. The GB7000.1-2002 lighting national standard is based on the summary of China's implementation of GB7000.1-1996 and other lighting national standards in the GB7000 series over the past few years, and it adopts the fifth revision of IEC60598-1 identically. It is a fundamental safety standard in the lighting field. To effectively promote the implementation of the standard, the High-Tech Department of the National Standardization Administration of China has tasked the National Lighting Electrical Apparatus Standardization Technical Committee with the Lighting Standardization Sub-technical Committee to compile a nationwide unified promotional teaching material. This aims to ensure that producers, distributors, certification and testing organizations, and others across the country have a correct understanding and unified recognition of the technical content and testing methods of the GB7000.1 safety standard. This is an important and meaningful task in promoting the implementation of mandatory standards, and it will lay a solid foundation for the certification of lighting products.
