Features: This book is part of the "College English Test Band 4 90 Score Breakthrough" series, covering Reading Comprehension, Cloze, and Short Answer Questions. The book is divided into three parts.
Part 1: Reading Comprehension. According to the syllabus requirements, candidates are expected to "understand the main ideas and supporting details; deduce the meanings of certain words and phrases based on context; comprehend not only the literal meaning but also make certain inferences and reasoning based on the material; grasp both the meaning of individual sentences and the logical relationships within the passage; and master the main ideas and themes of the material, as well as the author's perspective and attitude." Therefore, the chapters in this book are arranged in the order of these requirements. In terms of content, we have organized it in the sequence of "Question Types," "Past Exam Analysis," and "Targeted Practice." After familiarizing themselves with the "Question Types," candidates can truly understand and master the essence of the CET-4 exam through "Past Exam Analysis" (which is a key differentiator from other CET-4/CET-6 books). Combined with "Targeted Practice," candidates can review and apply the problem-solving methods taught in "Past Exam Analysis."
Part 2: Cloze. Through the statistical analysis of past exams, we have provided an "Introduction to the Cloze Format," summarized "Testing Points and Solving Methods" (including "Using Grammar Knowledge," "Using Collocation Knowledge," and "Using Discourse Knowledge"), and proposed a "Step-by-Step Guide to Solving Cloze." Subsequently, we have designed "Cloze Practice Tests and Answer Explanations."
Part 3: Short Answer Questions. Based on years of grading experience, the author introduces the "Scoring Principles and Standards for Short Answer Questions" to candidates. Through the analysis of past exam questions, we have summarized the "Types and Genres of Short Answer Questions," followed by "Examples of Question Classification (Analysis of Past Exam Questions)" and "Solving Methods." Finally, we provide "Practice Tests with Answers and Notes."
