Past Treatment and Effects:
There has been no previous treatment.
Desired Help:
How can I prevent the baby from crying?

Doctor's answer:

The baby is crying, which should be due to discomfort. Once the baby's illness is cured, it will naturally stop crying. Your baby may have diaper rash, also known as "red butt," which is an inflammatory skin condition. It is often caused by the baby's hot body, delicate skin, prolonged exposure to wet diapers, excessive rinsing of the buttocks, and the accumulation of damp and hot air, leading to skin irritation. This condition is most common in infants. Due to the frequent dampness and discomfort in the affected area, infants may cry more easily. Generally, medication is not necessary; local treatment and enhanced care are sufficient.
Advice: The baby's anal area is very thin. If there is redness and swelling around the anus, it is recommended to:
- Wash the area with water after each bowel movement, using lukewarm water or a 4% boric acid solution to clean it. Pat dry with a soft cotton cloth—do not rub.
- Avoid using soap when washing the buttocks to reduce irritation.
- After washing, apply talcum powder or diaper cream.
If the temperature or room conditions permit, you can place a diaper under the buttocks to allow the area to air out or be exposed to sunlight for 2–3 times a day, each time for 10–20 minutes. Generally, the redness should be significantly improved within 1–2 days.
It is important to change diapers or wet wipes frequently.
