Is olfactory neuroblastoma a neurogenetic disease?

Patient's question:

My daughter was diagnosed with olfactory neuroblastoma in January of this year, and it took her life in just four months. Could this disease be a result of something we, as parents, did?

Doctor's answer:

Olfactory neuroblastoma is an intracranial malignant tumor in children and is not a hereditary disease; it has no relation to parents. Currently, the exact cause of any tumor is still very clear. Multiple factors can lead to tumor growth, and humans cannot prevent it. In some cases, genetic testing may predict whether a tumor will develop or even determine when it might occur, but the majority remain unclear. You should have no problem having another child. In some cases, one identical twin develops a tumor while the other remains very healthy. So, you don’t need to worry.
