End of Heaven: Electronic Games · Programming (Other)

Features: This program seems to be the novel itself, but I think it is merely a manual for this program. After reading this book, we can start our own game. This game begins from this moment and this place, questioning grand myths and dismantling so-called "good news," discovering alternative possibilities. This book is not the one that fulfilled my expectations for Sun Jianmin ten years ago; instead, it marks a new starting point in this time and space. Past hopes and imaginations have become distant, and both Sun Jianmin and we are in a state of transformation. In a mysterious place called "Golden Paradise," four urban white-collar workers—Ding Hong, Xia Rihuan, Pitiao, and Old Tang—discover they are being controlled by a strange program. Their thoughts, words, and actions seem unrelated to themselves, as they are undeniably transforming into characters. Their love and life have become an unexpressible game. Meanwhile, all their friends and family are drawn into this strange program as well, with mysterious events occurring continuously. The program is like an inscrutable black hole, irresistible, gradually devouring them. They seem to be living in an unreal world. The novel uses a marvelous imagination as its structure and takes the form of an electronic game, showcasing the inner changes of Chinese people in the era of cultural transformation, as well as the confusion and loss experienced by contemporary individuals when faced with overwhelming choices. It is a black humor work that focuses on the present reality, with humorous language and a witty tone. It blends narrative, pop culture, and avant-garde experiments, achieving a postmodern style reminiscent of an advertising patchwork.
