What are the prenatal examination items in the third month of pregnancy

Patient's question:

I didn't feel anything, so I never had an ultrasound or other check-ups. I want to do prenatal care tomorrow. Could you please tell me which tests are mandatory? Experienced friends say many are unnecessary.

Doctor's answer:

Analysis of the condition: Blood and urine tests should be conducted to check for issues such as proteinuria or ketonuria.
Recommendation: Use ultrasound to examine the fetal heartbeat and growth. However, currently, high-resolution ultrasound can be used to measure the thickness of the fetal nuchal translucency during the 11-14 week window. If the fetal nuchal translucency thickness is greater than 2.5 millimeters, the risk of chromosomal abnormalities in the fetus is quite high. If combined with blood tests for free beta-human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) and pregnancy-associated plasma protein-A (PAPP-A), 90% of fetal abnormalities can be diagnosed, including Down syndrome, trisomy 18, and trisomy 13.
