Patient's question:
Since childhood until now, I still wet the bed and pants. However, now I still wet the pants occasionally during the day, and I still wet the bed at night. Is there something wrong with my child?Doctor's answer:
Enuresis includes two types: one refers to enuresis disease, also known as bedwetting, and the other refers to enuresis syndrome, which not only involves urinating in bed but also urinating in clothing or other inappropriate places during non-deep sleep or when awake. From a pathological perspective, the former is mostly caused by neurofunctional coordination disorders and is typically simple and persistent, meaning there are no other accompanying symptoms besides bedwetting. The latter is mostly caused by organic inflammation, such as damage to the nervous system or occupying inflammation of related organs, and is often accompanied and transient, meaning in addition to bedwetting, there are other more obvious pathological manifestations that can improve with the resolution of other inflammations.
