Features: The Annotations and Notes on the "Pharmacopoeia of Cultivating Temperament" is compiled from the "Pharmacopoeia of Cultivating Temperament" in the Essential Formulas for Emergencies (Baiji Qianjin Yaofang) and the "Pharmacopoeia of Cultivating Temperament" and "Retirement" in the Supplementary Formulas to the Qianjin (Qianjin Yi Fang). The base text of the Essential Formulas adopts the Edo-era woodblock print of the Baiji Qianjin Yaofang from the Japanese Edo Medical Museum, and is corrected using the Newly Engraved Formulas of Master Sun preserved in the Seikado Library, the Yuan-era woodblock print held in the Beijing Library, the Shanghai Hanfen Pavilion's photolithographic Ming-era woodblock print, and the Wanli-era Wang Kentaang's corrected woodblock print. Additionally, the base texts of the Essential Formulas and Supplementary Formulas are compared and annotated against the Meixi Book from the Yuan Dade era. The secondary sources used are mostly standard editions, which are not listed here. All archaic, variant, and cursive characters in the book are standardized to common characters.
