Features: To adapt to the development needs of the construction industry after China's entry into the WTO, implement the spirit of the "Notice on the Implementation of the Vocational Qualification Certificate System for Production and Operation Personnel in the Construction Industry" issued by the Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, carry out vocational skill training for construction workers, and accelerate the overall quality improvement of the construction workforce, our press has organized the writing of the "Construction Vocational Skill Training Textbooks" based on the "National Vocational Standards" for the construction industry jointly reviewed by the Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, the "Vocational Skill Standards" and "Vocational Skill Job Qualification Standards" issued by the Ministry of Construction. This set of textbooks includes 12 positions, such as masonry workers, plastering workers, concrete workers, steel bar workers, carpenters, painting workers, scaffolding workers, waterproofing workers, testing workers, surveying and layout workers, plumbing workers, and construction electricians. On this basis, we have also added the book "Professional Ethics and Rights Protection for Construction Workers." The purpose is to enable workers in these positions to not only master their professional skills but also understand professional ethics norms and knowledge of protecting their own rights. It is also to support the moral education activities of the national vocational skill management departments centered on the theme of "integrity" in the construction industry, in order to meet the urgent needs of vocational skill assessment institutions and training departments. The writing of this training textbook has absorbed the experience of training carried out in various places in recent years, strives to adapt to the new requirements of the construction industry after China's entry into the WTO, fully considers the actual situation of the construction workforce, emphasizes practicality, and focuses on the training requirements of operational skills. The text is written to be profound yet simple, easy to understand. The content reflects scientificity, advancedness, targeting, and practicality. It is a textbook for vocational skill training for construction production and operation personnel. In the more than 20 years of reform and opening up, China's construction materials have developed rapidly. Some traditional materials have been phased out, while others have been updated in terms of performance indicators and testing methods. Meanwhile, new materials and their corresponding technical standards and testing methods have been continuously issued and implemented. Therefore, organizing training for testing workers is imperative. Based on this consideration, the authors have written this textbook in line with the spirit of the "Outline for Writing Textbooks on Civil and Architectural Vocational Skill Training" of the China Environmental Science Press. Since construction materials are diverse, the content of this textbook focuses on the performance testing of commonly used materials when it was written, and the text is concise and to the point. It adopts the newest standards and newest testing methods. It is mainly used as a training textbook for junior and intermediate testing workers. When teaching, teachers can select and adapt the content based on the local application of materials.
