Features: The development of pattern art has a long history and glorious achievements. As early as several thousand years ago, on the painted pottery of China's Neolithic Age, there were examples of using patterns to decorate utensils, reflecting the ancestors' pursuit and longing for beauty through decorative language. By the Shang and Zhou periods, represented by ancient Chinese bronze ware, geometric patterns were also fully utilized in addition to animal decorations like the Taotie pattern. The decorative style of the Han Dynasty, using stone slabs as material, formed a robust, grand, and lively pattern style. The patterns of the Tang Dynasty, in terms of content, took plant and floral patterns as the main decorations for utensils, making the pattern decorations richer, more luxurious, and magnificent, thus laying a solid foundation for the peak of porcelain floral pattern decorations in the Song and Yuan periods. During the Ming and Qing periods, there emerged a Sino-Western hybrid known as cloisonné, with densely compact and flexible yet orderly patterns, reflecting a direct relationship with the craftsmanship. Meanwhile, Chinese folk patterns are diverse, including paper-cutting, shadow puppetry, woodblock prints, batik, embroidery, and indigo-dyed cloth, showcasing a strong rural atmosphere and reflecting the pattern design skills of folk artists.
