Features: With the continuous deepening of reform and opening-up and the increasing expansion of international exchanges, China's requirements for college English proficiency have become higher and more specific. Recently, the Ministry of Education revised the "Teaching Syllabus for College English for Non-English Majors," and English teachers in various universities have actively explored college English teaching methods. This book was originally titled Quest and was published by the renowned McGraw-Hill Education publishing group in the United States in 1999. The entire book is organized into units based on themes, covering all subjects involved in general cultural education in universities, such as biology, history, psychology, art, archaeology, and economics. Since the language level of this book aligns with the requirements of English teaching at the college level in China, it provides college students in China with a convenient way to access authentic contemporary American English while familiarizing themselves with basic knowledge and vocabulary in various fields. It is an invaluable textbook. This series includes one reading and writing textbook and one listening and speaking textbook, each consisting of three volumes, teaching language skills in a progressive manner. The materials in the book are sourced from newspapers, textbooks, radio broadcasts, interviews, and classroom lectures, making the language authentic and practical. What makes it even more valuable is that the listening, speaking, reading, and writing skill training in the book are closely integrated with the themes of each unit, making them engaging and reflecting effective teaching experience and methods. The teacher's manual for the third volume of the Quest Listening and Speaking Textbook provides teaching guidance, answers to text exercises, audio transcripts, and test questions. We hope that the introduction and publication of this textbook series can further enrich the field of college English textbooks in China, enabling college English teaching in China to reach a higher level.
