Features: The rapid development of Internet and optical technologies has brought fundamental changes to the communication industry. Dynamic and fast wavelength allocation requirements are one of the main trends in optical networks. The scale of optical networks is rapidly expanding, and the role of optical transport networks has shifted from large-capacity bandwidth transmission to providing end-to-end service connections. This book is positioned in intelligent optical cross networks, systematically introducing and elaborating on various optical switching networks and their new technology application methods. The book is divided into 7 chapters, with the first chapter briefly introducing the basic theories of optical transmission and optical switching. Chapters 2 to 7 respectively introduce the basic principles, key technologies, and networking applications of wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) optical switching networks, time division optical switching networks, code division optical switching networks, optical packet switching networks, optical burst switching networks, and automatically switched optical networks (ASON). In the appendix of this book, the author also systematically summarizes important books and paper materials on optical switching networks internationally, which have great reference value.
