Features: The compilation of this illustrated album stems from the following consideration: The popularization and massification of world-class classics, making them accessible to the general public and thereby enhancing the cultural literacy of the entire nation, is a shared cultural tradition across ancient and modern times, with a long history. Works such as the Bible and Buddhist Stories, as well as China's four great classical novels—the Dream of the Red Chamber, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Water Margin, and Journey to the West—have all adopted this form. The Manifesto of the Communist Party of the World, hailed by Lenin as the "Bible of the working class," was also disseminated to the working class and other laborers through a simple and accessible visual format. We believe that the great epic Geser should also be introduced and widely spread through various popular and easy-to-understand forms. Moreover, Geser is currently available only in Tibetan, without a complete or refined Chinese translation, let alone an English translation. This makes the introduction even more important and urgent. On the other hand, Thangka is a unique Tibetan art form. By presenting the world's longest and living epic in the form of Thangkas, we combine the two, allowing readers to not only understand Geser through this medium but also appreciate Thangka art through the stories of Geser. This enables a broad domestic and international audience to enjoy and explore the richness of Tibetan culture from multiple perspectives, levels, and angles.
