Patient's question:
Main symptoms: High feverOnset date: 2009.10.10
Laboratory test results: 2009.10.11
Past treatment and effectiveness: Currently using
Yabao Children's Fever Clear Pill (3 pills each time, 3 times a day)
Xinyu Calcium Fosfomycin Granules (1/6 bag each time, 3 times a day)
I feel these two medications are not very effective!~
If the fever drops below 38.5°C, I give him Jihao Ibuprofen Suspension (2 mL each time), which works very well.
However, once the baby coughed up phlegm that seemed to contain blood streaks!~
All the above medications were prescribed by the Maternal and Child Health Hospital.
After taking ibuprofen, fever usually subsides within about 1 hour, but it keeps recurring.
Please help the doctor take a look at the blood test report and see what the issue is!~
Is there a rash? Or is it a viral or bacterial infection?
Please check if other test results are normal?
Doctor's answer:
Some parents may worry that the rash is measles. The characteristics of measles are that the rash is also red, and the order of rash appearance starts from behind the ears, then spreads to the head, face, neck, torso, and limbs, forming a dense pattern, hence the name measles. It is not difficult to distinguish between the two conditions based on their characteristics. Infantile fever is caused by a viral infection, and antibiotic treatment for infection is ineffective. There is no need to harm antibiotics; symptomatic treatment is sufficient. The blood test results cannot reveal what the child is infected with. The percentage of lymphocytes seems a bit high, but for children of this age, lymphocytes make up a larger proportion.
