Features: My readers may have different interests in various parts of this work. But I am trying to describe the events as detailed as possible, hoping to help readers understand and evaluate the intentions and motives of those who shaped the political climate around the world during those turbulent years. Gorbachev was once a globally recognized figure. This book is a selected edition of "Gorbachev's Memoirs" in Chinese. The "memoirs" consist of three parts: The first part is about Gorbachev's life and family, recounting his experiences before becoming the General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and his personal life and relationships with close friends. The second part is about Gorbachev's political career in the Kremlin, detailing his ideas and actions in reform after becoming General Secretary. Among them, the delicate records of Gorbachev's thoughts and psychological activities on the reform cause, reflections after the passage of time, and justifications for his own actions, as well as the open and hidden struggles between bureaucratic factions, are invaluable and irreplaceable precious materials that no other publications can match. The third part is about Gorbachev's experiences during the "tough year of 1991," focusing on the detailed process of the August coup and the dissolution at the end of the year, as well as his complex inner feelings as a ruling president forced to resign and the subsequent formation of the Commonwealth of Independent States after the dissolution of the union. Gorbachev recalls as such, and readers interpret it differently.
