"The Manual" is divided into two main parts. Part I allows readers to learn perioperative management in a systematic way, including preoperative assessment, intraoperative management, specialized anesthesia, and postoperative care. Additionally, we have added several chapters, including drug interactions in anesthesia, anesthesia for minimally invasive surgery, conscious sedation protocols, new monitoring techniques (echocardiography, transcranial Doppler), new treatment strategies for trauma patients, office-based anesthesia, and new perioperative management guidelines. The second part is the appendix, which includes formulas, electrocardiogram strips, commonly used drugs, the American Heart Association (AHA) adult, pediatric, and neonatal resuscitation protocols, the ASA difficult airway management protocol, and the 2000 MHAUS malignant hyperthermia treatment protocol.
