Professor Zhu Zongxiang is one of the key members of the national research project "The Study of Meridians" and was previously an expert committee member for the project. "The Study of Meridians" has been ongoing since the 1970s and is still listed as a major national science and technology project by the Ministry of Science and Technology. After 27 years of experimental research, Professor Zhu used modern scientific methods to prove the objective existence of meridians and proposed that "everybody has a self-medical care system—the meridian system—in their body; as long as the meridians are kept unobstructed, one can dispel diseases, strengthen the body, and live a healthy and long life." Based on this, Professor Zhu created the "San Yi Er Jiao Meridian Exercise Method," suitable for people of all ages, particularly middle-aged and elderly individuals. It is a crystallization of extensive practical experience in preventing and treating chronic diseases among middle-aged and elderly people, representing the combination of ancient traditional Chinese medicine meridian theory with modern scientific research.
This book was written by Associate Professor Liu Guihua of Beijing Sport University. Professor Zhu Pengdi and Associate Professor Xu Ruimin compiled typical case studies, letters from the public, and some of the 100 Q&A answers. Rào Lì was responsible for the design of the illustrations and the editing of the manuscript.
