Features: Since the Criminal Law of the People's Republic of China was revised on March 14, 1997, and came into effect on October 1 of the same year, it has been six years. During these six years, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress has successively enacted a single criminal law, namely the Decision of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress on Punishing the Crimes of Fraudulently Purchasing Foreign Exchange, Evading Exchange Control, and Illegally Trading Foreign Exchange, four criminal law amendments, and six legislative interpretations. In addition, the Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuratorate have successively issued over one hundred judicial interpretations to the Criminal Code. These contents fully reflect the significant developments and changes in China's criminal legislation and criminal justice. To some extent, these developments and changes have been reflected in textbooks or other works. In order to fully incorporate these developments and changes in criminal legislation and criminal justice into criminal law reference books and make them accessible to more readers, this is the purpose of compiling the Practical Criminal Law Dictionary. This dictionary includes more than 2,100 entries related to basic and common terms in the sub-discipline of civil and commercial law within the field of law. The definitions of entries adopt the generally accepted views, and where it is necessary to introduce different scholarly opinions, brief explanations are provided.
