Features: How can the teaching of this textbook achieve the above-mentioned goal of educating students while teaching? The following is an introduction to the concept of Case Studies on Insurance in China and Abroad, for reference by teachers and students:
(1) The Teaching Objectives of This Course
This course aims to cultivate students' abilities to analyze and solve problems through the analysis, reflection, discussion, and writing of numerous insurance cases, thereby comprehensively improving their overall quality.
(2) The Structural Design of This Textbook
1. Key Knowledge
"Key Knowledge" serves as the guiding framework for each chapter of insurance cases. Its content introduces or reviews relevant theoretical knowledge. Knowledge is the basic element of thinking, the foundational component that determines the scientific level and developmental level of thinking. No way of thinking can exist without a certain amount of knowledge, and all ways of thinking are based on a certain foundation of knowledge. Since this course is usually offered after courses such as Insurance and Insurance Law, it is presented in the form of "key points," using concise language to elaborate on the knowledge required for each chapter, preparing students for case analysis.
2. Case Presentation
"Case Presentation" involves analyzing selected cases to deepen students' understanding of relevant theoretical knowledge. Through the reading of case analysis, students can broaden their perspectives, learn to analyze insurance cases in a practical manner, and engage in discussions on areas that require further exploration.
3. Case Discussion
"Case Discussion" primarily involves designing several cases for students to independently think about and analyze. The learning format mainly includes:
(1) Independent thinking;
(2) Group discussion;
(3) Writing case analyses.
The goal is to enable students to engage in active learning. Through mental effort, verbal expression, and hands-on practice, students can improve their abilities to analyze and solve problems in "practice." Views on cases are encouraged to be diverse as long as they are well-reasoned and supported by evidence. This section emphasizes the cultivation of students' oral communication skills while also improving their writing abilities through case analysis.
4. Review and Reflection Questions
"Review and Reflection Questions" are listed at the end of each chapter in the form of thought-provoking questions. On one hand, they summarize the core content of the chapter; on the other hand, they help students deepen their understanding of the basic theories and foundational knowledge through case learning.
