Features: To cultivate students' comprehensive language skills, College English 6: Intensive Reading (Revised Edition) retains Cloze exercises and error correction drills for passages. These exercises are of moderate difficulty and require appropriate guidance from the teacher. College English 6: Intensive Reading (Revised Edition) has also added translation exercises from Chinese to English, both for sentences and passages. Passage translation is more challenging and requires students to have a solid grasp of common words, phrases, and sentence patterns from the texts. In the reading exercises, each unit is paired with a reading passage similar in content to the main text, along with comprehension questions. The new science and technology reading passages are primarily intended for self-study by students but can also be selected for use by teachers. The writing exercises in College English 6: Intensive Reading (Revised Edition) focus on training students in summarizing articles, writing essays based on charts and graphs, and composing daily correspondence. Two new self-assessment tests are added, placed after the fifth and tenth units, respectively, to help students consolidate their learning. The book includes reference answers at the end. This book is the sixth volume of the College English series and is designed for students taking the College English Test Band 6. All the texts in this volume are original, with minor edits made in some places. When selecting materials, attention was paid to the interest, knowledge, and thought-provoking nature of the articles. The book consists of ten units, suitable for a semester-long course. The content structure of each unit is similar to previous volumes but with some modifications. The overall principle is to strengthen comprehensive exercises based on the knowledge learned in earlier volumes. The annotations for the texts primarily introduce relevant background knowledge and provide explanations for difficult terms and sentences for students to refer to while previewing. After each text, comprehension and discussion questions are provided. The vocabulary exercises in this volume include two parts: practicing words from the text with various usages and practicing phrasal verbs. The latter follows the same approach as in the fifth volume, where two common verbs are selected for each unit, their phrasal verbs derived from these verbs are summarized and introduced, and exercises are conducted.
