Why do I always have diarrhea?

Patient's question:

At only 10 months, I keep going to the hospital for diarrhea. They said it was gas in my stomach, but now it's still happening. What's going on? Male

Doctor's answer:

Hello: Note on diet: The dietary principles for nutritional treatment of diarrhea involve dietary adjustments, stopping the intake of high-fat and indigestible foods to reduce gastrointestinal burden, gradually restoring digestive function, and supplementing vitamins and electrolytes for targeted treatment. Antibiotics should never be overused. Active dietary treatment is very important for restoring strength. Breastfeeding mothers can adjust and shorten feeding times, while formula-fed infants can initially be given rice water or diluted milk (e.g., 1/2 water and 1/2 milk, or 1/3 water and 2/3 milk), starting with small amounts and gradually increasing in consistency. Easily digestible dairy products include yogurt and skim milk. Homemade skim milk (by cooking milk and removing the skimmed milk skin that floats to the top) is also suitable.
Below are a few examples of therapeutic diets for children with diarrhea:
Egg Yolk Diet: Boil eggs, remove the shells and whites, and use the yolks to extract oil by simmering them in a pot over low heat. For infants under 1 year old, give one egg yolk oil daily, divided into 2-3 servings. A 3-day course is recommended for treating diarrhea, with benefits including strengthening the spleen, nourishing the stomach, and stopping diarrhea. Egg yolk pancakes steamed with a little flour and shredded ginger also have the same effect.
Apple Diet: Apples contain tannins, which have a laxative effect. Wash one apple, steam it, and eat the flesh or mash it into a paste for consumption. Give 30-60 grams per serving, 3 times daily. Apple soup is also a supportive beverage for treating diarrhea. Chop the apple, add 250 milliliters of water and a small amount of salt, and optionally add 5% sugar. Boil the mixture and drink it like tea, suitable for infants under 1 year old.
Chestnut Paste Diet: Use 3-5 chestnuts, remove the shells, and mash them. Cook with water to form a paste, add sugar for flavoring, and eat 2-3 times daily. This diet helps warm the stomach and stop diarrhea.
