Features: Traditional Sun-style Tai Chi was created by Sun Lutang, combining Xingyi, Bagua, and Tai Chi. Its characteristics include: advancing and retreating in harmony, ensuring that forward steps are followed by the rear foot, and retreating steps are followed by the front foot. The movements are smooth, round, and natural, with agility and spontaneity. When changing direction, I use opening and closing to connect. To meet the needs of domestic and international exchanges and competitions, the Chinese Wushu Academy organized Tai Chi experts to create and review the Sun-style Tai Chi competition routine, which has become one of the competition events for Tai Chi, sword, and push hands nationwide. The Sun-style Tai Chi competition routine has the following technical characteristics:
1. Sun-style Tai Chi integrates Xingyi, Bagua, and Tai Chi. Its bodywork and footwork exhibit the characteristics of Xingyi and Bagua. When advancing, the rear foot must follow, and when retreating, the front foot must withdraw. The footwork is flexible, agile, and compact.
2. The Sun-style Tai Chi competition routine fully reflects the principle of Tai Chi, which uses the form of the post-natal world without its post-natal strength, moving and stilling in harmony, and acting purely naturally. The movements are steady yet light, with power breaking yet intent unbroken. Practicing the entire routine feels like flowing clouds and water, continuous and unbroken.
3. The frame is appropriately high or low, with movements that are purely natural, without the double-weighted posture, and aligns with human living characteristics. It is suitable for practitioners of all physiques and ages.
