Features: The book "Compendium of New Surgical Formulas" has finally been compiled after nearly a year of unremitting efforts by all colleagues. It is the latest specialized work introducing the secret and effective formulas for treating common surgical diseases across various regions of China in recent years, following the publications of "Compendium of New Cardiovascular Disease Formulas," "Compendium of New Male Urology Disease Formulas," "Compendium of New Gynecology Disease Formulas," and "Compendium of New Rheumatoid Arthritis and Bone Joint Disease Formulas." The book includes over 520 effective secret and tested formulas, basically reflecting the cutting-edge status of using traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and Chinese herbal medicine to treat common surgical diseases in China. It has strong readability, practicality, and advanced features. The formulas (including some external treatment methods and acupuncture) included in the book generally have the advantages of good efficacy, few side effects, convenient material sourcing, and relatively low cost, making them worth reference and even adoption by clinical doctors and patients. For example, TCM has always had unique approaches to treating sores and ulcers, with many methods being the crystallization of clinical experience over thousands of years (especially for chronic sores and ulcers that do not heal). The same applies to burn and scald treatment, where the efficacy often surpasses conventional Western medicine. Of course, we advocate the combination of TCM and Western medicine for some diseases (such as acute abdominal diseases and tuberculosis), and the efficacy is naturally better than relying solely on TCM or Western medicine. The ultimate goal of a doctor's clinical treatment is to heal the patient. As long as it benefits the patient and has proven clinical efficacy, it does not matter whether it is TCM or Western medicine—this is the reason why most TCM practitioners in China (especially young and middle-aged doctors) are proficient in both TCM and the basic theories and skills of Western medicine.
