How is diarrhea?

Patient's question:

My daughter is eight and a half months old. Previously, she had one to two bowel movements a day, but recently, she has been having three to four bowel movements a day. The first bowel movement was normal, but the subsequent ones have been a bit runny, yellow in color, and not well-formed. I’m not sure if she has diarrhea.
Treatment history and effectiveness: I gave her probiotics for five days, and for two or three days, she didn’t have a bowel movement. But now it’s happening again.
What kind of help I need: I want to know if she has diarrhea.

Doctor's answer:

This first requires considering a stool test to clearly diagnose whether it is infantile indigestion, intestinal inflammation, or fever-induced intestinal dysfunction. If it is indigestion, oral probiotics are recommended, supplemented with abdominal patches applied to the navel for treatment. If necessary, seek pediatric intravenous treatment at the hospital. Shorten the feeding intervals. Increase fluid intake.
Suggestions: If it is intestinal inflammation, it is recommended that you decide on ampicillin intravenous anti-inflammatory treatment to prevent the child from becoming dehydrated.
