Features: "Fudan" is the brand mark of the premium teaching materials specially launched by Fudan University Press. "Fudan·MPA Series" is one of the earliest MPA brand teaching materials in China. It is advised by Professor Cao Pailin, the chief professor and doctoral supervisor of Fudan University, and led by Professor Zhu Qianwei, a member of the National MPA Education Guidance Committee and doctoral supervisor. The series invites senior professors and highly skilled teaching staff from many prestigious universities at home and abroad, including Fudan University, Sun Yat-sen University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and the University of California, Los Angeles, to participate in its development. In terms of content, it strives to absorb the latest achievements in public management research both at home and abroad, reflecting the development direction of the discipline. It combines theoretical elaboration with case studies to fully embody the essence of public management, aiming to construct a high-standard, high-quality, and relatively complete systematic public management teaching material system.
This book takes systems engineering as the fundamental concept of modern management and explains the basic concepts, characteristics, survey, statistics, analysis, and testing methods of quantitative analysis methods in a popular and accurate manner, starting from various examples. It also elaborates on how to apply quantitative analysis methods to various management practices such as forecasting and decision-making. Quantitative analysis methods require the use of many mathematical models and calculation formulas. This book focuses on introducing the applicable background and specific algorithms of quantitative analysis, without emphasizing complex mathematical derivations and proofs. This approach not only reflects the characteristics and requirements of quantitative analysis but also makes it easier for readers to understand and master. Readers can conveniently select the mathematical models, algorithms, and corresponding computer EXCEL functions provided in this book based on data and information obtained from management practices to obtain the corresponding quantitative analysis results.
Each chapter of this book ends with exercises, and there are four appendices at the end of the book: common mathematical symbols, common formulas, and EXCEL function descriptions. These are all very useful mathematical tools for readers to conduct quantitative analysis in management practices. This book can be used as a specialized teaching material for MPA courses, as a basic teaching material for undergraduate and college students in public management, business management, and other management disciplines, and is also suitable for self-study reference.
