Features: "Fundamentals of Diagnostics" is a compulsory course for undergraduate students in higher TCM universities and colleges, serving as a "bridge" between basic medical sciences and clinical medicine. To meet the needs of higher TCM education in the new century, the Ministry of Education commissioned the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine to plan and provide macro-level guidance. The National Association of Higher Education in TCM and the Research Society for Textbook Construction were specifically responsible for organizing experts from some TCM universities to compile the new edition of "Fundamentals of Diagnostics." The compilation was carried out with the aim of cultivating high-quality and innovative talents for various clinical disciplines of TCM. During the compilation process, in addition to following the unified requirements of the Research Society for Textbook Construction, the editorial committee also adopted many suggestions from teachers and students, carefully formulating the compilation outline and teaching outline. Based on the previous edition of "Fundamentals of Diagnostics," necessary supplements and revisions were made to strive for scientific rigor, advanced concepts, inspirational content, conciseness, and practicality. It highlights the fundamental theories, basic knowledge, and essential skills that students must master, creating conditions for the coordinated development of their knowledge, abilities, and qualities.
