Features: The study of the Sixth Patriarch has always been a focal point in Chan Buddhist research, and it has gained even more prominence recently. Promoting the teachings of the Sixth Patriarch and disseminating his life stories have also been highly valued by both academia and the Buddhist community. The Platform Sutra is one of the most important philosophical texts left by the Sixth Patriarch. As an ordinary thinker, the Sixth Patriarch primarily used colloquial or vernacular language in his teachings. Although some passages may have been edited and refined by his disciples, the text generally retains its original straightforward and flexible style. However, due to historical changes, the original colloquial language and vernacular sermons have become difficult for modern readers to understand, making interpretation and colloquial translation necessary.
