Jade Guanyin

Author: Haiyan
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2003-05-01
Features: Although this book still follows Haiyan's traditional formula of romance + police crime, the story is set in the beautiful and rich Yunnan, which infuses the tragic and mysterious plot with a romantic and idealistic tone. Even before its publication, multiple newspapers serialized the story, and readers eagerly followed it. A television drama adaptation is also in the works, and it is believed to achieve record-breaking ratings, just like Haiyan's previous works. This is a lyrical work that showcases the kindness and forgiveness of Chinese women, blending ingenuity with simplicity, softness with strength, while maintaining fine craftsmanship without sacrificing grandeur. In Jade Beauty, Haiyan tells a thrilling love story. Female police officer Anxin's life takes a dramatic turn after an accidental "affair," entangling her in the conflicts between family and enemies, and love and law. She experiences the cruelty of death and rediscovers the sweetness of love, ultimately growing into a strong and complete woman who dedicates herself to the extremely tough and dangerous anti-drug work. Haiyan excels at combining police crime themes with love stories, with his characters being vividly portrayed and his plots heart-stirring. His novels, known for their youthful passion and the intensity of human nature, have gained a growing readership in recent years.
