Features: The words "old" and "new" are opposites. Without the old, there can be no new. Therefore, to push forward the old is to aim at bringing forth the new. The new must emerge from the old. If one accepts tradition but merely stops at it, or what is accepted is not the excellent tradition, then no academic field will progress. If so, why accept tradition? If one discards tradition and engages in empty fantasies of everyone becoming a Pangu or opening up the heavens and earth alone, we would still be living in the primitive era of eating raw meat and drinking blood today. The "Old Man of Bitter Melon" said, "Therefore, a gentleman only uses the past to open up the present." Using the past to serve the present is to push forward the old and bring forth the new. From this, we can see the value of tradition.
The word "style" is originally an abstract term, often used in the context of literature and art. Generally, it refers to the distinctive features of literary and artistic expressions, such as temperament, demeanor, and taste. In the field of technological innovation and creation, only the strength and quality of functionality and efficiency are considered, and there is no need to pay attention to the differences in form and style. For example, American atomic energy technology and Soviet atomic energy technology, Chinese mathematics and British mathematics—none of them can be directly introduced or applied to each other. However, literary and artistic works must emphasize the uniqueness of form and style. The same theme and content can be expressed in different forms and styles.
