How to physically cool down a child

Patient's question:

I don't know what's going on, but my child has been misbehaving and crying non-stop lately. Even the hospital check-up didn't help. How can I physically cool down my child?

Doctor's answer:

Hello, if your baby has a fever, it's important to find the cause rather than just focus on reducing the temperature. Physical cooling methods can be effective. Common methods include:
Alcohol bathing – Gently rub the patient's neck, chest, armpits, upper arms, palms and back of hands, groin area, lower legs, and soles of the feet.
Cold compress – Use cold towels or ice caps on the patient's head. Alternatively, ice packs can be placed on the armpits or groin area.
There are many factors that can affect a child's respiratory system. If a child is diagnosed with a respiratory condition, parents need to cooperate with the doctor for immediate treatment, including gastric decompression, and develop good hygiene habits.
Children should maintain a balanced diet and avoid stimulating or cold foods.
