Ten places such as the Lushan Stone Forest, Dali, Xishuangbanna, Three Parallel Rivers, Lijiang Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, Tengchong Geothermal Volcanoes, Ruilin River, Daying River, Yiliang Jiujiang, and Jianshui have been listed as national key scenic areas; five cities including Kunming, Dali, Lijiang, Jianshui, and Weishan have been recognized as national historical and cultural cities; and national-level tourism resorts such as the Kunming Dianchi National Tourism Resort, as well as eight provincial-level tourism resorts in Dali, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, Xishuangbanna, Yangzonghai, Fuxian Lake, Tengchong, Lugu Lake, and Diqing are either established or under construction. The province has also established over 100 county-level and above nature reserves, along with 22 national and provincial-level forest parks.
