Features: The Hunchback of Notre-Dame is the long of the renowned French novelist and poet, Victor Hugo. A Romani girl, Esmeralda, performs street acts, and the Archdeacon of Notre-Dame Cathedral, Claude Frollo, desires to possess her. Later, he discovers that she has another lover and kills him, falsely accusing Esmeralda. As a result, she is sentenced to death. The hunchbacked bell ringer, Quasimodo, who is ugly in appearance but loves and admires her humbly, rescues her and takes her to Notre-Dame Cathedral for refuge. Frollo abducts her and forces her to succumb to his beastly desires. After being rejected, Frollo hands her over to the authorities, watching from above the cathedral as she is hanged. In a moment of despair, Quasimodo furiously pushes Frollo off the five-story tower, killing him instantly. He then goes to the Cave of the Gaiars, embraces Esmeralda's dead body, and dies with her, completing their "wedding."
